The site is a true blog on the reality scale and has a lot to do with a person’s view of everyday life in own nook of the world known as Singapore. Introducing herself as Angelique, she has on her site a warning that is befitting a true blog of human proportions, that states the blog “Raining Noodles” is not safe for kids and any other purpose for that matter. In her about page, she describes her world and how she has become one of the best bloggers according to some reviews with posts on all aspects of life in the small country she describes as a place where sex is the main past time, jokingly of course. The Island of Singapore used to be a colony of the mighty British Empire when command and conquer was still the norm of the day.
Having gained independence, her culture is a mix of Brit-savvy and Asian sophistication that has created a unique mix of cultures found no where else on earth. I mean there may be many other territories that may have been under British rule but Singapore is Singapore, the land where throwing gum wrappers on the streets may end you up with a hefty citation or jail-time. In her own words she accurately describes society from her end of the world as secular,multi-racial, multi-religion showing the complete diversity of the land that is so small that nobody would guess would become one of the best economies in Asia. Hard hit by the economic recession, like most of the many South Asian countries, they have lost much of their revenue from foreign businesses but gladly thanks to the future outlook of the country’s leaders, other means of income were developed and put into action.
As always, blogging is an effective way to release stress which was the purpose it was designed to do in the first place. The previously online web log has turned into something we have never imagined, serving any purpose we see fit, as we, along with Angelique continue to document our daily lives on the blogosphere, for eternity and beyond.

Asian food has become popular all over the world, but it is, of course, best known by Asians themselves. Discover and savor the authentic flavors of this region with White on Rice Couple.

The blog was listed in an article on the 10 best Asian food blogs. It combines pretty good photography with links to recipes, allowing followers to try out a wide array of flavors right in their own kitchen.

The blog helps people discover there is more to Asian food than the typical sushi or chow mein noodles. The selections are diverse. From appetizers to desserts, from well known classics to Burmese specialties you’d never find in your usual takeout menu.

The writing won’t win awards but it does show a knowledge of Asian cuisine and an appreciation for the variety of influences. Some posts also show how traditional dishes have evolved, incorporating the ingredients and cooking techniques of other cultures. There are also examples of fusion cuisine.

The best part of the blog is the recipe links, which allow anyone to recreate the dishes in their kitchen — especially since many of the dishes will not be found in restaurants.

Obviously, the blogger has a mission to introduce Asian food to the world, and puts quite a bit of effort into selecting not just a variety of dishes but also those that may appeal to a wider audience.

The photos are quite pretty — a visual feast indeed. The food styling looks quite modern and break away from the typical Asian food presentation of ornate Chinese plates (or styrofoam takeout boxes).

It’s called pepakura.

Pepakura is a paper craft where one creates three dimensional figures from paper. It’s a bit like origami, but unlike the ancient Japanese art of paper art, the figures are not representational. Pepakura figures look like the real thing. If you create a bear, it’s a bear that you’ll see. Pepakura figures can be made by downloading sheets that already contain the figures that you need to cut out and then paste. It’s deceptively simple. But there’s a level of mastery needed to make really beautiful figures. The figures you can make can range from animals, to bikes to spaceships. I’m even making a Millennium Falcon pepakura figure.

I’m a sucker for Chinese food so I’m always on the lookout for cool Chinese restaurants. Nothing excites me more than finding an obscure hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant that serves phenomenally good food.

Best Foods in China is a website that caters to people like me — people who love Chinese food and would love to know where to get the best dishes in countries they will visit. The site is unique though in that it tries to catalog the best restaurants in China. It obviously has many entries on Chinese restaurants but you’ll also see references to other cuisine, like good Thai restaurants in different regions in China. This is a great resource for those who are travelling through China and want to find out where bet to eat in a particular region.

Each entry is quite comprehensive. There is a detailed description of the restaurant and a very well-written review of the food with accompanying pictures. There is also a handy guide that rates the service and quality of food, the restaurant’s ambiance, the price range you can expect to spend.

Best Foods in China is one of those sites that should be a handy reference in your browser.

The site is surprisingly written by a Spanish guy, Hector Garcia, who has been living in Japan for a couple of years which provides us with interesting insight into Japanese Culture. Now why would you want to know a bout Japan from the view of another national, well first, the Japanese have many cultural differences that cannot be easily explained till you see them first hand. The language barrier is also a very difficult one to bridge for their language may not have direct translational equivalents in the English language so bridging the gap is very difficult for outsiders. Japan is a secretive society in a sense that there may never be a true manifestation or way of interpreting Japanese culture that from the eyes of the Japanese. More and more Japanese are learning the Western way of life and to that extent we have seen their technological prowess in all aspects of daily life.
From the best cars, dancing robots, computers and more, they have some of the best minds in the world in a country that is an archipelago, broken into several islands that makes up the country we know as Japan. The diversity of Japanese culture is very unique for crossing from area to area may give you totally different flavors of their unique culture. As the author has found from living there, life isn’t always as simple as it is for like the importance of pride in their work. Employee’s are less important than the company as well as their extreme value for honor which cannot be matched elsewhere in the world. Japan is an utterly peaceful place even with the gangs and the infamous Yakuza who respect culture and values their honor. People are friendly once you get thought the difficult language barrier.
The Japanese are some of the politest people on earth and they always got he extra mile for their customers. May it be in the airport, or on the streets of their major cities, or even the small remote towns, people will always look to you with a smile. Kirainet.com is available in the author’s native tongue as well as in English which allows us to see his experiences and interpretation of the Japanese way of life, as it has in it’s long history.
