In this blog, ‘Skine Art’ you will see some of the works made by Moleskine fans all over the world. It’s pretty amazing. The posts, showcasing work submitted by different artists — both professionals and hobbyists — represent an amazing variety of styles and themes.

One of the best online comics that I know of is Questionable Content. The web site is owned and operated by Jeph Jacques. The comic revolves around the life of Marten and his friends.It updates five days a week and each episode Jeph gives you a peek in to the life of these people. This is not trite comic, the script is very well written with really natural dialogue. I love the fact that Marten and his friends are into the same kind of music I’m into. Jeph even gives band recommendations on his notes,which accompany each new episode.

Be warned though, Questionable Content can be quite addictive.

The fact is, holiday travel is harrowing, expensive, and usually uncomfortable. And if you’ve got a horror story or would like to find out how to avoid one, visit Travel Rants. It’s got information on the airline industry, showing that some travel companies clearly have bigger problems than bad in-flight movies. Aside from that, it has tips on how to cope with the most common traveler’s woes. For example, there’s an article on facing the fear of flying, and another on dealing with jetlag. You can also find advice on how to efficiently pack a suitcase, plus an introduction to travel insurance. The site also has links to travel blogs and hotel blogs. There’s a good variety of topics, and the travel news is certainly useful for someone who spends a lot of time jet-setting, whether for business or for pleasure.

The site is not a consumer activist group. You can’t, for example, start your campaign against rude and obnoxious flight attendants here, or post your complaint about your luggage getting lost or getting stranded in some airport. But it does confront the “not-so-pleasant” side of travel that those airline commercials and travel agency brochures usually leave out. It is disconcerting how the commercials set you up for deep disappointment.

The strips contain many in-jokes about gaming that are truly hilarious. If you don’t get the joke then the accompanying news post (which appears alongside new strips) will give you an idea of where the duo’s coming from. The strips generally involve its two protagonists, Tycho Brahe and John “Gabe” Gabriel, who play games and comment about them. I can’t begin to explain how spot-on their comic strips are. If you’re a gamer you’ll have fun reading about the stereotypes and the cool game-related jokes. Non gamers will have fun with the unique brand of humor that only Penny Arcade can deliver.

This blog, Post Secret, invites people to mail in any secret on the back of a postcard. It allows you to stay anonymous, and yet still have the “release” of being able to share your secret with millions of people all over the world.

The postcards are often beautifully decorated and handmade, using collage or digital art, and carry a few lines describing their secret. All in all, there’s a voyeuristic pleasure in scanning the entries, and in some moments, nodding your head and saying, “I’ve done that” or “I can relate to that.”

Some entries are heartbreaking,and make you pause to think about the stranger who — across the world — is carrying this heavy weight. Somehow you know something about him or her that even a best friend or family member may not know.

It’s also a great nostalgia trip for looking at the gadgets we once owned when we were young. The site is chock-full of pictures and insightful articles on different gadgets that they feature. It’s a highly addictive site that you’ll want to revisit over and over again.

There are some interesting columns from wrestling experts, too. A bit of a downside is that some cool content is only available through subscription so if you’re not inclined to shell out some dollars, you won’t be able to read it. But the free sections are already worthy of a visit, and, in my opinion, a permanent place in your bookmarks folder.
