Just to make it clear, true Vodka comes from Russia and nowhere else whatever you may say or where ever on the world you may be. Previously reserved for the elite of the Russian nobility, there are only a handful of Vodka makers in the country which makes obtaining the real stuff quite difficult outside of the country. Though exported, it is done only in controlled batches to guard the quality and real good nature of the intoxicating drink. It is also considered to be one of the strongest drinks due to the fact it is distilled four times giving it character and muscle(you’ll probably need it to be if you live in Siberia).

Today, the country is part of the Russian Federation which is composed of the many former territories that are governed separately and claim sovereignty over their land that used to be Russia.
