The Displaced African, and as the name suggests, it is a blog about displaced African immigrants by a displaced African Immigrant and the blog is rich with samples of the raw beauty and power of the African Continent, the birthplace of civilization. Though I could not find the actual residence of the blog, since the spirit of this site is to feature the best blogs in the world I figured giving homage to the beauty and strength of the people of Africa who have suffered so much in recent history. It offers a lot on immigration specially for Africans who have been displaced by war and conflict, drought and the many other problems that is facing the many African countries. Frankly, I haven’t been there, but the truth of the matter is that through all the TV features, news and other informative articles you come across the web, you can get an insight into their daily lives, hardships and resilience.
The people are strong, though divided by many borders, they all share a common beauty, adversity and diversity. In a land torn by conflict, corruption and indifference, what better way to give tribute to their plight than by featuring them and showing the world what these wonderful people can offer to the world. From arts and crafts of old that to us are simple trinkets and curiosities, but to them serve a very vital purpose, survival. They are different from the rest of us through skin color but share our plight, the indifference of others who discriminate and hate us by our covers not considering the soul that is within. From the rich culture, arts, modern adaptations thought the internet, the African Spirit lives in their hearts and minds.
I was watching CNN just a few hours ago and heard this African footballer who was playing in England in the League and his words seemed to wrap up the soul of Africa, “I play in England, but I sleep in Africa!” More power to you the people of Africa and continue the hope that tomorrow brings a new day!
Thanks for your comment sir, sorry I kinda’ pushed the wrong button and deleted it. Might be the caffeine taking it’s toll. The correction is welcome and the descriptive of your site was more of a tribute to the plight of the people. I do know that you long for your homeland as many of those who are out there in foreign lands even if your were born somewhere else. We are glad to be of service, bringing your blog to light to more of the blogosphere. Thank You and Good Day.
