The Traveler’s Lunchbox

the-travelers-lunchbox-journal_12470307067291Travel blogs are really fun to read. I take vicarious pleasure in reading about the adventures of these bloggers to different places. One advantage of these types of blogs is the very personal accounts that you get to read. The high level of intimacy these bloggers give their posts will almost make you feel that you’re also taking that same journey with them. One other thing that I love are food blogs. I’m a gourmand myself so these wonderful posts of great food finds is something that I look forward to reading all the time.

These are the reasons why I love reading The Traveler’s Lunchbox. It’s a blog on travel and food — a perfect combination if I ever saw one. Th blog is operated by Melissa Kronenthal. Melissa is triple threat — she not only manages the site but she also writes and also handles photography. So if you’re impressed by the writing and the pictures, chances are she’s responsible for it. Melissa operates the blog from Bainbridge Island, Washington.

There’s another thing that makes Traveler’s Lunchbox an exceptional food blog. Melissa also shares recipes in her blog — something that is not often done by food blog writers. Yes, there are blogs that offer recipes but these are more often than not cooking blogs. Melissa’s blog is written almost from the perspective of a food reviewer and food/lifestyle writer. The addition of the recipes actually enhances the value of the blog as well as its stickiness. I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back again and again just to get fresh new recipes that are made more interesting by interesting articles that back it up.
